The match was freakin' awesome! The Ags have some freshmen contributing already. Add them to the solid core already in place, and you have the makings of something special.

Plus, they had autograph night tonite, and the team seemed very cool about signing posters, etc. after running around a pitch for 90 minutes. I didn't get anything signed, but a big thanks to the team for taking the time for all the fans who wanted to meet them. And beat the hell outta SMU!

The game article in this morning's DMN said that Katy Jo was 'hardly challenged' in earning her first career shut out. Very dominating performance by the team.

Coach G made some very interesting comments about the freshman from Minnesota in his interview with the 12th Man Magazine. I am curious about how she fared in this game.

There seems to be a real attitude and air of confidence about this team. With Emma Smith, Jr, Katy Jo Spisak, Soph, and the incoming freshmen, this team should be competing for national honors for the next several years.

Congrats to Coach G and the team on this first victory and to many more to come.

Her first career shutout?! No.. Surely she had one last year. I bet it's first shutout of the year. Or I just read it wrong.

Any word on if the game is still on for tonight or if it'll be cancelled due to weather?

Krambeer looked great, but didn't find the back of the net. She had a couple of good chances, but just didn't have the right touch. She looked good, though, and I bet it doesn't take long for her to get in stride.

Pierson looked outstanding. Her set-piece kicks were well-placed, and her work with the rest of the defense was great. G. was quoted as saying it was great that midfielders scored all the goals, but I think Pierson was playing back.

Overall, the freshmen looked great. I did go back and look at the A&M press release, and read that "Freshman midfielder Madison Klovstad scored the game's second goal in the 15th minute when she beat a defender then beat the keeper ..." When I read "beat the defender," I think of her pulling out a crazy move on a defender to get by her and that's not quite the case here. She was alert and pounced on a sloppy, slow pass from the center defender out to her left. Klovstad sprinted in and took the ball, and that left her with only the keeper to beat -- which she did with a beautiful shot. Anyway, that's how I remember it.

Now somebody make this rain stop before 7:30 ...
