Krambeer looked great, but didn't find the back of the net. She had a couple of good chances, but just didn't have the right touch. She looked good, though, and I bet it doesn't take long for her to get in stride.
Pierson looked outstanding. Her set-piece kicks were well-placed, and her work with the rest of the defense was great. G. was quoted as saying it was great that midfielders scored all the goals, but I think Pierson was playing back.
Overall, the freshmen looked great. I did go back and look at the A&M press release, and read that "Freshman midfielder Madison Klovstad scored the game's second goal in the 15th minute when she beat a defender then beat the keeper ..." When I read "beat the defender," I think of her pulling out a crazy move on a defender to get by her and that's not quite the case here. She was alert and pounced on a sloppy, slow pass from the center defender out to her left. Klovstad sprinted in and took the ball, and that left her with only the keeper to beat -- which she did with a beautiful shot. Anyway, that's how I remember it.
Now somebody make this rain stop before 7:30 ...
