Nationals started today.

Camille seeded first in 200 fly for finals. Sarah Henry in the A final of 800 free.

I saw a few others - Emily Neubert swam 200 fly. I'm sure Breeja is racing later.

Camille won gold in 200m Fly. 6th fastest time in the world this year. Great interview on Universal Sports after the race.

Sammie Bosma was 39th in the 100 free in 56.24. Colleen Konetzke is 23rd (8:47.45) in the 800 free with Finals heat remaining. Sarah Henry still to swim in the 800 final tonight. Here is the breakdown of Aggies and their races:

I enjoyed getting to see Sarah Gibson swim this morning. She was so sweet and spent some time talking to my swimmer daughter at the Physics Festival in March.

Sarah Henry placed 8th in the 800 Fr. She will also be in B final for 200 Fr. tonight.

Larson will be in A final for 200 Br tonight.

I'm told one of our signees made the A final in the 200 back too...?

Lisa Bratton did make the A Final in the 2Back. I believe Bethany Galat made the C Final (18 and under) in the 2Breast as well.

Word is there was a 200 free scratch to bump Sarah Henry up to the A Final.

In non-Aggie news, Kevin Cordes close to the 200 breast WR with this morning's swim. He seems to be telling the world he really is a LCM swimmer now.

Very impressed by Bratton's swim.

Don't look now but Bratton just earned the bronze in the 200 back beating the NCAA record holder and the nation's #1 recruit. Only Missy Franklin and some still-in-HS stud topped her. As a reminder, she's ranked as OUR #3 recruit.

Stevo's already got things rolling in the right direction and they haven't even made it to campus yet.

If only Breeja could learn to pace her 200 breast better! Micah reels her in every time.

Nice swim in any case. Bratton showed she wasn't intimidated swimming next to Franklin.

Another incoming freshman has A finaled with Galat doing so in the 50. Beat NCAA 100 runner-up McClellan and 200 champ Rainey. Nearly beat Hannis who has been practically as good as Breeja in the 50 as well. Speaking of, Larson qualifies second behind only Jessica Hardy.

Both Sarah and Cammile into the 400 IM A final tonight.

Breeja 2nd seed to 50 Breast final, and incoming freshman Bethany Galat makes the A final as well in 8th. Strong showing after dropping over 2 seconds in her 200 yesterday.

And Phelps put up the fastest time in the world in the 100 fly.

At this point - Galat shows she is a much better sprinter than a 200 swimmer. Breeja wasn't very good at the 200 upon arrival at A&M. Galat should be in the mix to earn the medley relay spot as freshman. She beat all of the Texas girls.

Galat's SCY best (2:12.6) is actually faster than 3 of the last 5 NCAA 200 breast champs coming out of high school. Levernz and Sogar were faster, Atkinson, Spencer and Reaney were all slower. Just looking at the USA swimming times database she's only had 7 SCY 200 swim times recorded in the last 2+ years. 2:17.4 best in 2012, 2:14.0 in 2013, 2:12.6 in 2014. I expect that progression to continue and to accelerate under Steve.

Breeja's 100 was disappointing. She didn't have enough speed and lead to prevent Micah from reeling her in. Breeja's start looked deep (thanks UW cameras), which may have hurt her initial speed. Did she make the PanPac team via her 200 breast?

Saw Galat's finish - looked great.

Yes, Breeja made it in the 200. The start was what got her, she actually out split Lawrence the 2nd 50 by a small fraction.

Adams, Bratton and Larson all secured spots on the Pan Pacs team. All in all a pretty successful week. Looking forward to another great year.
