OK, so admittedly I know absolutely nothing about hockey. I got roped into playing in an auction league, which also sucked. I did manage to get the only player i know (Sidney Crosby) and from just ranking standpoint it looks like my team is somewhat solid.

However, one of my friends keeps giving me trade proposals and playing enough Fantasy Football, they seem like crap trades and he's telling me that yahoo rankings are different than I think they are.

So, his latest trade is trying to get Victor Hedman from me for Dustin Byfuglien. Is it me or is that a bad trade?

Also, in Yahoo leagues the O-Rank versus the Rank categories - are those like in Fantasy football where Yahoo has them ranked a certain way but depending on your league they could be different?

im not sure how Yahoo ranks it, but in my opinion trading Hedman for Byfuglien would be dumb. Byfuglien has had a few decent seasons, but Hedman is one of the top D-men for Tampa Bay. The way Tampa Bay played last year, and with Hedman's strong shot, I would keep him.

Hedman had 1 less pt than Byfuglien last year, and Hedman plays D. Also, Hedman currently has more pts than Byfuglien for this season and also plays on a more solid team.

Thanks - I think I made the right choice. Somehow I'm in second place without knowing much about hockey.

If any need any more advice, let me know. I played hockey for 10 years growing up and typically follow the Nhl pretty closely.

He keeps sending me trade after trade for Hedman. Now he wants to know what I want for him. I should just say "Give me Stamkos and we're good."

I have a bunch of solid D - Shea Weber, Duncan Keith, Keith Yandle, Drew Doughty (and Hedman). He has a bunch of crap. I have mediocre Goalies.

From what i can see his best players are Anze Kopitar, Stamkos (which I'm almost sure he won't trade since that's what he named his team after), and Ben Bishop.

Based solely on yahoo Rankings, my team is way better than his so I'm not even sure I need to trade. I don't want to trade for the sake of trading because that's never good.

Haha ya don't trade him unless he'll give you stamkos. Kopitar is a great player but stamkos is playing the best hockey of his career and has a shot at 100 pts.
