I'm sure there's probably way more NASCAR fans on this board, but who has been keeping up with the 500 this year? It's been pretty nuts with the new cars.

i tried to get some talk going on the auto board. but, no dice. we've got a dedicated group here that talks f1. but, the rest of racing especially open wheel doesn't get much traction.

Didn't think there'd be a single Indy fan haha. I typically post on TrackForum more about it, but I figured what the heck, why not. I might throw a 500 watch party if anyone is actually even interested.
I usually look forward to watching it, but I'm actually scared to this year. These chassis and aero kits just do not look ready for prime time on the big ovals. And the leadership of the series is back to being a total farce instead of just a partial one.
They needed an oval before hand and a test before hand. I think they put too much faith in Wirth for the Honda and Illmor for Chevy. And yeah, the leadership is extremely inept.

Just read that Hinchcliffe's wreck was caused by the failure of a 4-year-old suspension part that had 14,000 miles on it.

I'm with Cat, I am truly concerned about this year's race. All this driving while upside down stuff is disconcerting to say the least. And it's all been done in clean air, who knows what will happen with 33 cars in the track. All Chevrolets I think, maybe the Hondas are just to slow.

Maybe the teams were pushing the envelope on their qualifying setups. I bet the Chevy people especially are breathing easier right now.

was hoping for Rahal because I would have been paid out very well due to the bet I placed. But he was consistently one rung below the top dogs the entire race.
