Way too late to start this thread, but maybe some folks will talk some tennis during the tournament.

Nadal with a 6 seed, and Djoker getting him and Murray on his side.

Federer won his 3rd round match today and is in the 4th round. However, it wont be easy from here, as he faces Monfils, and then if he gets by him a QF match against the winner of Simon and Wawrinka, with either Nishikori, Berdych, or Tsonga also on his side of the draw that will be in the SF.

I just don't see anyone beating Djokovic...Nadal included.

Nadal has an astonishing 9 French Open titles. That's unbelievable. King of Clay, and probably the sole reason Federer doesn't have about 4 or 5 more slams at the French, as he was the clear cut 2nd best on clay for man years.

10 Slams at one event would be incredible, but I don't see it happening this year. But maybe Nadal can upset Djoker in the QF's...if so, then he obviously will be the favorite from there on out.

The women's side is now getting good. Serena will have some tough matches coming up, and Sharapova has also advanced so far.

I don't think Serena will get past Azarenka the way she played her last match. Fed has had it easy until the next round. It will get interesting. I am waiting to see that Djock and Nadal match. I love this tourney. I was fortunate to go 2 years ago. So many upsets will and does happen at this tournament.

QF's are set for the men:

Djoker v Nadal
Murray v Ferrer

Nishikori v Tsonga
Federer v Wawrinka.

Any predictions?

Give me Djoker, Murray, Tsonga, and Federer, but honestly other than Murray, I could see the other 3 matches going either way.

I'll take Nadal, Nishikori, Fed, and Murray

Fed on the ropes. Down 2 sets, and in a tiebreak in the 3rd.

Stan wins. Fed pretty dejected, but slammin stan moves on. I like his game on this court.

After winning the Australian Open Stan said clay was his best surface. He then lost in the first round.

He also said today that this was the best match he's ever played in a grand slam event, including the Aussie Open run.

I would think so. Federer was playing well.

Federer is not going to win another grand slam. He can't control the power like he used to.

Djoker destroying Rafa. If not for a brief mental lapse in the 1st set, this thing would have been a real shellacking

Yeah, that was a beat down. After 5-all in the first, it was 14-4 for Djoker. Unreal. Murray will probably make it a little more interesting in the SF, but it's looking like Nole will get his career slam.

Joker is at 8 and soon to be 9 grand slams. I see no reason why he won't win Wimbledon to make it 10. Someone might nick him at the US Open. But he should start the same cycle over at the Australian.

But he is 28. He is getting to the point where he will be a step slower and injuries will start to creep in on him. But the thing is when Federer hit this stage there was Nadal waiting to take him out. When Nadal started to get injuries then Joker took over. But who is going to take over from Joker?

I don't see Novak slowing down for a few years, well into his 30s. He is more efficient than Rafa, so the game isn't as hard on him.

On the other hand, I can't wait for Serena to stop playing. Her attitude drives me crazy. She has zero respect for her opponents. She acts like an idiot when she WINS points, but acts normal when she loses. Acting sick only to steamroll in the third. I'm beyond tired of her act.

Great match so far in SF1.

Stan is trying to back up that Federer win. Up 2 sets to 1 and in the 4th.

Father time is undefeated. Joker will not be dominating well into his 30s.

So, you know for a fact that Serena is NOT sick? I personally really enjoy watching her play. Her attitude is really not much different than say Azarenka. She's just not thin, tall and blonde. What she has done is extremely impressive. Who is still playing that was playing the first time Serena was ranked #1 in 2002? Venus but she is a shadow of her former self. Who else? To be ranked #1, 13 years after first being ranked #1 is impressive. And you can't deny 20 Grand Slams is quite the accomplishment.

No, of course I don't know that she is sick. I just see her as one who would make her wins or losses more dramatic.

I personally cannot stand watching her antics. You're right though, she won't go away anytime soon. She's a great player, no denying that. I just don't like her on court demeanor.

Looks like the swiss can add tennis to their list of watches and cheese. Stan is playing ridiculous.

Really amazing. At the start of the match it didn't look like Stan had a chance.

Of course he's looked really tight these last two points.

So happy for Stan! He's now a 2 time grand slam champion. So awesome. Djoker will have to wait for his career slam.
