Agreed. Here we have a top ten program and somebody wants to gripe about it. I'd like to
have both but prop.49 (?) wont allow another male team. Gripe about that but leave our toprated women's team alone! The best team A&M has year to year!

It's Title IX that won't let us have another male team. I don't know the exact specs, but I think that it's scholarships that have to be balanced between male & female. Don't quote that. Anyway, we could all argue TitleIX all day long, but that's not important. It's unfortunate that we don't have a men's team, but we have one of the best women's teams in the country. Whoop!

You're right....girls soccer is one of the best events on campus if you like things to be nice and slow. The team has even abandoned the attractive, technical style that they used to be admired for. Now all we see is kick and run and there is nothing worse than watching girls try and "run".

My point is....women's sports in general are slow, boring excuses for the male equivalent. No knock on our most successful program but success doesn't make them any faster or the product they put on the field anymore attractive to watch. The women's world cup was a perfect example of how top women's athletes are still a sorry excuse for the male alternative. Go watch some real soccer played by men and then try and tell me that any women's team is enjoyable to watch.

I'm a pretty big soccer fan and played for one of the better youth programs in Texas and I've only been out to one women's soccer game. They're a great team and I'd like to see their new talent, but if there was Men's team, with all the talent we could get(Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio), I'd make it a point to go to as many games as possible. This makes me wonder, do you think the attendance for a D-1 Men's team would be higher than what the women have now? I personally don't think attendance would be any better for a Men's team, I don't know how the women caught on so strong.

And everyone should join the boot line at halftime! It doesn't matter how old or young you are. I want to see our bootline so long that it literally stretches all the way to the Aggie bench. That would just look so amazing.

Well I am done with the argument that girls soccer is slow or what knot. I think that is bogus and you people like to hear yourselves argue. I enjoy the games and so do many others. I really dont care if you like girls soccer. If you dont go or dont care for it wine somewhere else instead of a thread that was originally posted to those who enjoy soccer for what it is. Girl's soccer is by far the most entertaining sporting event we have here this year. The good crowds are a great sign and let's all hope the girls can win their remaining big XII games!
