Austin has broken into the top 100 for the first time. He is now ranked #97, which makes him the number 7 American in the rakings.....way to go Austin.

Good for Austin. I have to say I never thought he would crack the top 100 but I'm elated that I was wrong.
Hard work and perseverance can overcome a lot of things.

I never thought he would get this high either. Awesome job by a great Aggie!

Looking back, he had a stellar college doubles career. For as well as he has done in singles on the atp tour, he had a very mediocre college singles career.

Indeed. He is truly the Ryan Tannehill of the Aggie tennis program.

His rise into the top 100 has been a slow and steady march...like watching a glacier slide down a mountain.

And let's not forget that he won Kalamazoo so in reality this is no shock how well he has done. He was the best American coming out of juniors. Now he is top 100 on the ATP tour. Only Steve Denton and Bob McKinley could help him underachieve so well in his 4 years of singles play.

How can you argue those facts? What is the best he did in singles in the NCAA tournament or final rankings? Not good compared to winning Kalamazoo and being top 100 ATP. Not even close!

He also won Kalamazoo after his freshman year of college.

He did start in January as I just confirmed in an article I just read. So I guess you are trying to say in his few months of the hectic spring semester that Denton and McKinley coached him so well in those four months that he won Kalamazoo?

I guess you could say that. He even said in an article that collegiate tennis helped him win zoos
