Great game all around girls and way to shove back when the going got tough. Y'all showed Colorado why they weren't Big 12 champions last year. Kati Jo was her old awesome self again and stood up for herself against the ref- that yellow card was worth it. Hope to see y'all in Austin on Halloween!!

Kati Jo went to the ground to get the ball and the Colorado forward didn't really kick her, per se, but didn't stop running either. She more or less tried to step on Kati's face without making it look like it. So Kati got back up and pushed the girl and the ref had to come break it up, where Kati argued w/ him some. Then she turned away to throw the ball back into play and he stopped clock and carded her. I don't know if the card was for the push or the arguing, or maybe a culmination of the two.

Also, Christina Echavarry (sorry if it's spelled wrong) was carded too. She made a play off a header, but she probably did play the girl more than the ball. The girl went down injured, and Christina got carded for arguing with the ref for calling a foul. (At least, that's why in my opinion) Then the CU coach came on to the field yelling about how it was dirty and it should have been a red card and stuff.

More importantly, nobody was injured during the game, they were all able to pick themselves up.

I hate to start an argument, but Christina didn't do anything to that girl. She stood there while the girl went up in the air to play the ball. The CU girl lost control of her body and came down wrong and happened to brush Christina on her way down. This happened right in front of the reserved section so we got a pretty good view. That's why the fans in this section were so pissed that she got a card...

One of the best games I've seen this season. I wish we could've gone TTU on them, but 2 goals will have to do.

christina did nothing to her. the girl left her feet and then lost control. that cu coach is a whiny *****. did g freak out when burke had to be carried off the field? no. and her injury came because a girl blatantly went after her when the ball was already gone. i played soccer for a long time, and i know it gets rough, especially in important games. however, once the game was out of reach, cu was being blatantly dangerous, and there is no room for that. oh well. we won. their coach cried like a little baby. good times were had by all.

KJ had a legit argument the cu player slide in cleats up. She did not try to stop or anything. KJ stood up for herself and the other players. It was getting roudy out there and I think we showed who was the better team. We controled the game from the start. We played on offense most of the afternoon. Now lets go into austin and show them tsips how a Championship Caliber team plays. BTHOtu WHOOP!

I was sitting in the bleachers behind the CU goal during the second half, so I was too far away to see exactly what happened to KJ, but I know Echavarry took a shot at the Colorado girl. The girl she ran under was relatively tall while Echavarry is relatively short. Echavarry made no attempt to get the ball, which was in the air, but ran right through her. The relative height differences plus the fact that the CU player was in the air meant that Echavarry hit the CU player at about mid thigh with her body and spun the CU player in the air. The girl came down almost horizontal from pretty high up and took a hard fall. I don't think Echavarry tried to hurt the girl, but she made a dangerous play while trying to keep the girl from playing the ball.

I think that Christina was going for the ball, but played the girl just a little more than the ball. But, that being said, I think she got carded for arguing, not for the play. If she didn't argue, the ref probably would have just given us a foul and played on.

Then the coach came out, in my opinion, to get his team fired up. Yeah, he wanted a red card to give them an advantage to catch up, but I think he was trying to fire his team up too.

I'll have to disagree with you on this one. There's no way she was playing the ball -- first, she would've had to jump, which she didn't do; second, she ran right at the girl under control, she didn't trip or back into her; and third, it was an intense, physical match. The ref had to card somebody to get control of the game, and Echavarry's bump was pretty obvious.

I talked with Kati Jo after the game and she told me that the girl came in cleats up towards her face, and she was "reminding" the girl that she should not have done that- but I think the card was for arguing with the ref- I still enjoyed watching when KJ took a step toward the ref when he carded her.
