I agree with you on the best softball fields in Harris County. When my daughters played softball in the 70's from the FM 1960 area, the sport grew so rapidly that we needed permanent fields. I was on the Board that built the fields from scratch. The county helped us but most of the money generated was from fund raising, etc. Glad to hear so many girls are able to use the fields.

If you haven't been by Collins Park (formerly Cypreswood Park), check the place out. There are plans in place to build indoor batting cages, pitching lanes, training facilities, etc. The league is raising the $$$ now, and we will get there soon...

Re SKGSL/Collins Park. A decision was reached last night by the SKGSL executive board (in conjunction with Harris County) to replace the lights at all four diamonds in the complex.

The project should be completed by late spring/early summer 2004. In a nutshell, the outfield will now be as bright as the infield currently is, and the infield will be brighter still.
