I feel like I'm the last person to find this out, but the FIRST professional rugby league in the US kicks off in April!!! Quite a few big names are returning home from international careers to headline America's newest pastime, specifically Takudzwa "Z" Ngwenya - who I believe first started playing here in Texas (University of Dallas?) collegiate leagues before blowing up internationally in the 2007 Rugby World Cup. I think it's going to be AWESOME!

What cities will have a team ?

Huge rugby fan here, but I'm not sure this will be viable commercially or in terms of player development.

Us much as I wish it would catch on, I am not sure about the viability of a professional league. Many universities don't recognize rugby as more than a club sport and I have to pay a special subscription fee to see the world cup or six nations.

Sad to see, especially with the head injury conversation going on in football. Rugby doesn't have nearly as many problems. But, I hope i am wrong. Perhaps if it does we could get it to seven nations...
