I missed Friday due to other obligations, but did get out on Saturday and Sunday. The weather was not the greatest and several of the teams had players who were not present (Lester and Ante for the Aggies were out of town), but all in all it was a good outing. The Aggies will be very pleased with Brett Joelson the freshman from Oregon who played number one this weekend. He is very far along at this stage in his career, and will help us a great deal this season in the middle of the lineup. Marvin Rolle also looks to be of immediate impact in the lineup. Bryan Wooten, a redshirt freshman, is a very fine player who will also contribute in a big way this season. Zach Malmgren, the transfer from William and Mary, will certainly give Tim some options on down the lineup. Khaled broke out of a small slump and won his match Sunday playing at number two. Khaled will be ready to go when they turn on the lights, and is a fine team leader. John Nallon and Matt Loucks both played well and should be improved over last season. Alex Strom won his match on Sunday and will also provide good depth. This team will be much deeper than last years squad. Ryan had a great senior season and will be hard to replace, but I look for this team to be improved in a number of key areas. Ante and Lester should hold down the number one doubles position, and we should be better overall in doubles. Our depth should also give us some ability to match up in certain situations, which we could not do last year. I think it will be an exciting spring. Stay tuned.
