Day 1 is nearly in the books. Victor and Kunz are well positioned to score well for us. Eight athletes advanced to the finals lead by the 800M crew of Hernandez, Brazier, Fray, and Willard and the 400H group of Little, Grant, and Davis. Morrow also advanced in the 200M. It's a bit disappointing not to have a woman in the 200M finals, but they can focus on the 100M and the relays now.

For the good news, Ondrusek picked up a point for the women in the weight throw and Karis Jochen finished 5th for 4 points - she should qualify for regionals with her time.

Austin Wells finished 8th in the 10K. Weird deal as the lights went out after a couple of laps and they had to restart the race.

Early results Kunz finishes 2nd in the heat. Lindon Victor still leading the way through 8 events in the dec. Jeff Bartlett picked up a point in the SP. The women are about to bring in big points in the javelin, 1-3-7-8 through 3 throws.

texaggierm, how does the scoring work in the jt. we received 0 pts for 7 and 8 place.

scoring is 1st -10 pts, 2nd-8, 3rd-6, 4th-5, ... all the way down to 8th -1 pt.

We should have 5 pts from Karis, 1 from Alison, 8 from Annie, and 18 from the javelin crew. Something is up with the team scoring because Arkansas has more than 6 points too.

Through 9 events, Lindon has 7810 pts. He needs around 4:44 1500M to break the NCAA decathlon record.

In the jt, 9th and 10th place received the pts instead of 7th and 8th. I did not think a limit was placed on how many could place in a field event.

Anriel Howard in 3rd place after flight 1 in the TJ with a 41 ft jump.

Wooten and Johansson will finish tied for 5th and Wyatt is still going guaranteed at least 2nd.

Men, who before the 4x100 led in points, but 2 leg took off too early, and never got the baton. DNF. I assume that is a total killshot point-wise. Do relays award double points vs. individual events?

It'll be tougher on the men but they still have a chance. They have guys that can score in the field events - 100 points probably wins.
