I wasn't there, but based on the descriptions, I think calling it classless is pushing it. Was it over the top? Sure. But keep in mind soccer fan issues aren't measured by what's said, it is measured by how many fans get killed due to hooliganism that makes lubbutt football games mirror a Sunday School class.
As far back as the early 90's, the baseball games were ruthless to opposing fans. One guy's last name once was "Moody." The fans chanted, "1-PMS, 2-PMS" etc. on each of his pre-pitch swings. That's a fairly mild example.
I guess the real issue is that since this is a women's sport, should there be a little less joshing? That's a reasonable position, but I still think its debatable.
Would I have done it? No. Would I have tried to encourage others not to do it? Probably. Do I think it was (again, based on the description) totally sick and classless? I honestly don't think so.
