Rice falls even further. Loss to Oklahoma, Arkansas and now the AGGIES!!!!! in one short week. 4-3 TAMU. Big boost for the men's team. Well done Wooten, put us over the edge 4-3.

Great comeback win by Wooten. It's great for our guys to finally pull one of these close ones out against a top team.

Interesting to note that many of the Rice players and fans were upset that Ante and Lester did not play #1 doubles together. I overheard one of the Barker twins, as he walked off the court, say something along the lines of...those pansies didn't want to play their top team against us.

It's interesting to read what Cass had to say about it afterwards:

“I had wanted to change the doubles for two weeks, but I didn’t have the guts to do it,” Cass said. “Seems like an awkward time because they have a top doubles and we do, but my goal is to win the doubles point. The rule says to win the doubles point I have to put them in order of strength and I’ll abide by that rule. If I have to split Ante and Lester to do it, then I will.”

There appeared to be a somewhat heated exchange between Cass and Rice's head coach after Wooten clinched the match. I wish I knew the details of that conversation. I wonder if it had anything to do with the doubles shuffling or the huge on-court celebration following Wooten's win.

To kinda echo what's been said, splitting the top doubles team is not stacking. The Rice fans are misinformed to think otherwise. Now if the order of the pre-existing teams was switched, that's a whole different story.

typical sour grapes. no one was worried about any "stacking" when they were "shhhhh"ing us after they won the dubs point. no one was worried about any "stacking" when they were up 1-0 and they were up a set on 2, 5, and 6. and they wouldn't have complained about any "stacking" had wooten not gone balls to the wall and sent those *****s back to h-town with a 3rd straight loss.

bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahha. for once in my life i hope t.u. wins and extends those jackasses' losing streak to 4.

Stacking would be playing the team of Ante and Lester at 2 or 3. Changing your doubles teams is not stacking at all. It is up to the coach to determine the doubles pairs. After that, they should be ordered appropriately. Anyone calling stacking, doesn't know what it is.

This was another great A&M/Rice tennis match. Last year Ryan came from far back to win at number one and secured the victory. In many ways Bryan's win at six was even more improbable. He had to work really hard to get the second set into a tie breaker, and then lost the first three points of the breaker. Just when all seemed lost (including Ante and Brett going down) Bryan became the hero. He has worked very hard the past two years, and it was great to see him (and the team) garner some much deserved success. The Tech match on Saturday will be tough. They had Texas on the ropes before falling to the Horns the other day. Hopefully we will have some positive energy to take to Lubbock. Congratulations are also due to Lester for his big win at River Oaks.
