Congrats to our girls who were selected all Big-12 (and to Coach) but how in the world could Nicki Mechem not also be selected????? She had an incredible year! Course, you could make the same case for Anna Lubinsky as 'Newcomer of the Year' as well

Probably becuase she plays #5 for us, which means that 4 girls on our team alone are (arguably) better than she is.

The All-Big 12 team is comprised of the best players in conference and not the best players at each line.

that arguement would be a very good one. Seeing as how she won 6-0, 6-0 at her spot and i cant remember if lauren walker won or lost, but i think it was in 3 sets. There is a little difference between the two positions. I would like to see her play higher and see how she would do.

at the same time, no reason to send nicki higher when she is an almost sure win every match. those are hard to come by in college tennis
