How was tonight?
Lol, yeah, last night showed me for sure that the Lightning aren't the same team they have been the past 2 years. Past 2 years they looked like the Avalanche did this series. The past 2 years the Bolts were the team outpacing the other one in the playoffs - outskating them, outstick stickhandling them, controlling the puck, keeping the pressure on the entire game.
The Lightning lost too much over this past off season. The past 2 years it's been the 3rd and the 4th lines that have really shouldered the burden of winning in the playoffs. Last year it was the Gorde-Coleman-Goodrow line that won the stanley cup for them. Losing all 3 has really shown this post-season. This year the only 3rd and 4th liners doing their job and playing their role are Maroon and Perry. The rest of them are a bust.
Bellemare useless. Hagel useless. Bogosian useless. Cernak useless. Rutta...well, he's always been useless. Never liked him. Paul maaayyy pan out in a couple of years, we'll see. Even Killorn, who's usually clutch in the playoffs has been silent, and not just this round. And not having Point, well that's been the final straw.
I still hold out hope they can pull off a miracle. The top liners really do have a no-quit attitude and are so, so talented. But you have to have every line pulling their weight and playing at a high level to win the cup. And right the the team doing that is the Avs.
That team is just so talented and show so much heart. I won't mind too much losing to CO....other than Kadri and his ******bag comment about the ice, lol.
