What is the status of us landing the LSU track coach.

Coach Henry (LSU) has said he will not make any annoucment what so ever until after the Olympic Trials, which he is attending. He says he is interested. The LSU AD says he "...will do everything we can to keep him." Coach Henry is currently paid approx. $168000/year to run the womens and mens programs at LSU, plus various camps, of which he gets cash from that too.

If we get this guy, in a sense, for those of us that follow T&F and CC, this is as big a catch as Fran...

You guys hired a good one. I am sad to see him go but when people are dissappointed when a team does not win the national title, it is time to move on.

He looks to be better on the women's side.

22 NCs for the LSU women compared to 5 for the men.

He doesn't much with the women. He is the "head coach" for the whole program but lets one of his assistants run the womens program. I expect that man to be named the head coach at LSU.

His main focues is the men and he coaches them in the sprints and relays and helped LSU football sign the likes of Xavier Carter and Adrian Mayes.

Bennie Brazelle also plays football and just qualifed for the Olympics in the 400-hurdles.

Congrats to the Aggies. Pat Henry is a class act who will take the program to the "next" level. Hopefully, the Aggie track faithful will realize immediately that this impacts the program DRAMATICALLY!!!

As you can tell, I am a Henry fan -- and have been since he arrived in Baton Rouge 18 years ago.

The things the Aggies need to do now are:

(1) Build him a state of the art indoor facility to help lure the talent he will need to continue his production of champions. Hopefuly, that came up in his discussions with your AD.

(2) Appreciate his work and work hard to help him. He will give back ten fold.

(3) Give him TWO bonuses if he happens to win BOTH the mens and womens NCAA Championships.
I heard that LSU only gave he and his staff ONE bonus when they won TWO titles last year. To me, that was a slap in the face that perhaps he would not agree with -- and has the class not to ever discuss.

(4) Call the JAG dealer in Houston and get two of em rolling toward College Station! LOL! He's been driving one for quite some time -- supplied by either a BR or New Orleans dealer.

I had to laugh last week when going to another thread on this board and seeing where someone posted a comment regarding the selection of a new coach and saying something like..... "we need to hire someone who can recruit."

Guys, I think that has been accomplished.... and then some.
