A bunch of whiny coaches. While I have questioned Byrne's decision in the "resignation" of Nash, I don't think you can look at his move as one to cut the swimming program. We were going to cut the track team also. Oh wait, Bryne just went and got the best coach you could get to replace Nelson. More than anything this is a case of swimming coaches getting offended by one of their own getting "replaced." Their reasoning contradicts itself. Byrne has two goals. Beat texas and win the Sears Cup. Swimming, as long as it is successful, will provide much needed points for the Sears Cup.

Swimming will not be cut.

Here's a thought. I really doubt if everybody who is complaining about the swim coach actually goes to the swim meets. Some people just like to complain.
