Dates: April 4-5
Location: University of Florida
Time: Day 1 - Field Events: 1pm, Running 1:30
Day 2 - Field Events: 8am, Running 11am
Another weekend, another huge track meet for our Aggies! This time next week, they'll be home at Cushing Stadium, but this weekend they're at the Florida Relays hosted by the University of Florida! Just like last week, this meet will be just as, if not more competitive! Schools such as: Florida, Auburn, Georgia, Baylor, Penn State, Illinois, and many others will be there!
The competition will be tight and what makes this meet really interesting is that most events (especially the field events) have an elite invitational and normal competition! So our top competitors will be competing against some of the best in the country! So I expect our field event athletes to get huge marks!
We will be losing up the men's 400 with Auhmad Robinson, Antonie Nortje, Hossam Hatib, Cutler Zamzow all competing! We'll also see Kimar Farquharson and Sam Whitmarsh in the 800 which will be against a solid field! As well as, Ja'Qualon Scott and Bryce McCray in the 400 Hurdles, as well as Blake Harris back in action!
Our distance crew will get a small break this weekend, but what I'm most excited for is to see Debora Cherono in the steeple after her great 1500 run last week! I suppose the majority of our distance runners will take the weekend off to be ready for the home meet!! I'm concerned that we have still not seen Javelin throwers Sam Hankins or Katelyn Fairchild compete. I hope they are healthy and able to compete this season!
