High School recruiting question

My daughter will be starting high school next year and plans to run track. As part of the enrollment and UIL setup for sports, a question came up about interacting with NSCA recruiting. My wife selected this option and created an account.

I'm wondering if NSCA recruiting is a worthwhile platform for athlete visibility. Is it a good recruiting platform, or is it primarily a business looking to get involved with high school athletes? I'm asking because when I played baseball many years ago, scouts would come directly to games, so I'm not familiar with current recruiting methods or platforms.

Any insights or recommendations on whether NSCA recruiting is beneficial, or if there's a better platform we should consider for athlete visibility, would be greatly appreciated. If you have the ability to message me directly, please feel free to do so.

It's a business looking to get involved with high school athletes. I wouldn't waste your time/money. Spend it getting good coaching instead.

Run the times the college coaches are looking for. Once you think you have a good enough time, reach out to the staff at the colleges you are interested in. This is how you get noticed. Cut out the middleman and go to the source. If you are elite enough, the colleges will come to you.

I'll also say, coming out of HS and with roster sizes being shaved, this is going to be harder and harder to do. A&M has gone from a roster of 151 athletes (men and women combined) in 2021 to one that will soon be capped at 80 (45 women/35 men) in fairly short order.

At A&M for example, if you want to be on the team, you'd better have a performance that tells the staff that you are an immediate threat to score at one of the three SEC Championships.

In this boat too, have a junior distance runner and trying to sort this all out. It seems like the new settlement is going to make it difficult for HS athletes unless elite. We have NCSA but haven't seen much benefit yet.

NCSA is a waste of money. This coming from a HS coach. Depending on how good your daughter is, the coaches will find her. If she's looking at a smaller school, you can contact the schools just like NCSA would for free.
