Have to say that I was somewhat disapointed in what I saw at the Aggie soccer complex tonight. Saw an Aggie team that never seemed to get into a rythem. Blame that on the amount of substitution by the Aggie coaches. A player needs more than a couple of minutes to get into the flow of a game. And what about the freshmen? Only really saw two of them and they played well. I sure hope that changes quickly and we get to see the rest of that "great" class. I could understand them not playing if those that did played well but that Michigan team is not a powerhouse (picked 4th in Big 10). Put the talent on the field and lets get serious about the game. Team also looked like it lacked leadership. Besides that, we won and all is good but it could be great. Play the freshmen.

i thought the amount of subs was ok. for a first game, most of the team isn't going to be ready to play as much as we'd like. and i thought i saw quite a few freshmen tonight.

my only problem was the sloppy defense in the last few minutes. but pretty good play overall. things will only get better as the season goes on and the next couple years.

First of all this is not their first game....they have played 6 games total....with I beleive 5 of those being split squad games so yes they are ready to play a full game....Secondly, the only reason G is playing so many subs is because we have the depth to do it....with the talent we have he wants to see if he can get those young freshman in there and get them some PT before Big 12 starts....if some of these girls have enough game experience by then then we are sitting really nice depth wise in case somebody gets hurt (hopefully not)or simply to run down other teams in this Texas weather, or to be able to save players for the more important games....All in all I beleive G is doing what he needs to do.

I agree on the subs. The reason we made so many subs is because we can. It just shows our depth.

We'll eventually settle on a normal rotation. For now, we will likely continue to experiment.

Of the freshmen, Paige Carmichael and Amy Berend started and Allison Martino, Jordan Falcuson and Ashlee Pistorious came off the bench. Melissa Garey, one of our Top 3-4 recruits in this class started against TCU but didn't even play last night. Not sure what to make of that.

i don't really see scrimmages as real games. yes, i know they've played several exhibition matches...but as someone who as played organized soccer for a few years, those scrimmages are different. and just because they've gone through the scrimmages still doesn't mean they are physically ready. but they are very close to it. but i agree...there is a lot of depth and i have no problem with the subs. read my original post and you'll see that.

According to the players it was a blast...just long and tiring.

For you dark clouders, it was an outstanding win against another sweet 16 team last night. The Big 10 has multiple outstanding programs...Michigan among them. Weren't we eliminated by another Big 10 team in the sweet 16 last year? Answer, yes.

Next up is another sweet 16 team from last year, Clemson. And yes, they play in a big time conference too, the ACC. Clemson is 1-0 after beating an equally talented Texas team last night in Austin.
