Any current or former AMCTers in here today? I'm road rider in Houston, and I'm coming up for the Wyoming game Sept 11th. Since I'm doing the Bike to the Lake ride the following Saturday (I know - I'll miss the Clemson game :-/ ), I'd like to get a 50-miler in the morning of the 11th - but in B/CS. Haven't ridden up there since I graduated in '93. I know about the BrazosCyclists.org group that starts at the Admin Bldg at 8:45a, but I'd like to start a little earlier, like 7:30a. Anyone up for it?

Mark your calendar for May 1st, 2005. Junction 505 (a local non-profit) is hosting the B/CS Mayday Challenge.

It will be a metric century.

The BVC ride is your best bet for a group ride, but that might be cutting it close to kickoff. The AMCT joins that ride on Saturdays.

Were you on the team in school? We probably know some of the same people. I was on the team from '95 to '00.

Nah, I wasn't on the team in school - no time. I rode maybe once or twice a semester, and then it was like riding out 2818 to SH 6 and back to campus. I actually thought that was a tough ride back then! :-)

As for the ride on Saturday, I may just ride with another teammate of mine (I'm on a little team called Team CURE) and his girlfriend, and start at like 7:30 or a little earlier. I'm thinking of starting and ending at the Rec Center so I can just head in there and shower up afterwards. Then I can just head across the street to a tailgate and grab a beer!
