A much needed victory. 3 points is 3 points. It went right down to the end and O' Shea's own goal ends up not hurting the cause. However, a few thoughts. What is wrong with Giggs? Is he hurt or something? Heinz played like a man possessed (he was a great offseason pick-up). And of course a French guy saved the day.

I am starting to feel better about the Red Devils's chances.

I was hoping against hope to see Howard in net but I knew it wouldn't happen. It could be a long time before he sees time again. Heinze did play very well and in spite of O'Shea's blunder, the backline looked a lot better.

I'm curious as to why Smith didn't start and if Cisse was responsible for Silvestre, I think Baros will be starting next time.

Silvestre played a remarkable game. That seocnd header was pure brilliance. I like Smith as a reserve because when he is in at the end he is like an attack dog. That is one tenacious guy. Keano lookwd great tonight as well.

I like the defense. Heinz is an awesome player. The lead might still be too much to overcome but I am looking at the CL now.

That is an unfortunate situation with Keane. I guess he does these type things when he hits the bottle too hard.
