Both Michael Owen and Real Madrid made a dreadful mistake this summer.

Owen is now the fourth choice striker and is hardly sniffing the field (at least that means his hamstring won't get injured). Real Madrid needed a strong defensive minder midfielder but instead signed a striker. Raul is not playing well but is an icon in Spain and Ronaldo is frankly better than Owen. Morientes is on par and because of his nationality will get preferential booking at Real. Leaving Owen sitting on his butt.

Not a good move for either party.

Old news, but if they get Arsene Wenger from Arsenal Real Madrid is going to start dominating like everyone knows they should. I hope he can get those egos to mesh, b/c to watch that team play up to it's capabilities would be amazing.

Would Arsene Wenger leave Arsenal? It looks they are about to become the dominant team in Europe and are trying to tie him up for three more years. I read this morning Real is trying to hire Bobby Robinson.

It looks like Real has landed Robson at least until the end of the year. I think he'd be a good fit in Madrid.

Perhaps not. I think the Spanish have turned on Beckham. This might look like they are trying to make him and Owens happy.

I wouldn't trust The Sun to wipe my butt, but if that is true, it would be an interesting move. I guarantee Owen would see some time if Raul and Morientes sucked it up. At this point, I don't see why Wenger would want to leave Arsenal. The team effectively dominates the EPL, has a great chance to finally break through in Europe, and he's spent all this time bringing in his French players...why would he want to start over with a team that didn't finish in the top 3 in their league, looked horrible in their one CL match, and is full of aging superstars...even if that team is Real Madrid?

I really hope that the second rumor isn't true and Sir Alex doesn't pick up Cudicini. That could effectively end Howard's career at ManU in my opinion as he'd be the third or fourth keeper and probably never see the pitch again. He rose quickly with the team and it looks like he is falling just as fast...very sad.

Whew, if I had noticed upon the first read that The Sun was the source I wouldn't have posted the link. Mea culpa.
