The match was good — the ending made it exciting — but OU overperformed and the Aggies looked sluggish for a bit. The Aggies got the win they needed, but the Sooners had some unlucky breaks. But, hey, a win's a win.

They seemed slow and off at first, but then came around in the last 20 minutes.

I agree, the crowd was great, very loud.

Now to the two most important games left on the schedule (reg. season). Colorado and Nebraska. Nebraska beat us on our homefield and is the only remaining team in the Big XII besides us without a conference loss. To win the Big XII reg. season crown, we'll need to beat the big red in lincoln next Sunday. Way to win ladies! Enjoy it!

During this match and the UCLA match (both at 1:30 p.m. in the heat), the Aggies looked sluggish. I wonder if the heat is the advantage some assume it is -- esp. with so many out-of-state freshman in the starting lineup. Falcusan looked great in the first half (she's looked good all season), but didn't play in the second half. I don't know if the Aggies would've conceded the goal if she was in, and I don't why she didn't come back. However, the OU goal energized the team and made them perform in a match that appeared headed for a 0-0 outcome.

Postgame write-up said that we're only the 2nd team to score more than one goal on OU. So their defense must just be that good or that frustrating.

Oh, and don't forget about the Kansas game. Even though it's a home game, that one is vital to our season. And so is Missouri, let's not have a repeat of last season's game against them.

They looked like a different team on Sunday after the Friday night game. I wondered if it was the heat, the glare, or maybe even that the OU team was wearing maroon and they were distracted by the disjointedness of seeing opposition players who were "disguised" as Aggies.

The result, however, was a gutsy, gritty, valiant W over an OU team that was playing way beyond their supposed ability. OU not only didn't roll over when they lost their player to the red card, they played harder. Big character builder for the Ags to turn this one around.

I think the difference was that OU has a little more speed than we've seen in the last few games. We don't play as well against teams that are fast and challenge us for possession at every position on the field. Heat may have been a factor, but should have affected OU more than us -- they played most of the game one man down and wore dark uniforms.

Part of it was probably just overlooking them too. We beat a 9-0-1 team on Friday night, then we have to play an OU team who was 4-4-3 or something like that... It's hard not to just blow it off and say "alright we can win w/o trying as hard since we're still tired from Friday." Luckily we got it done, but it was scary.

Agreed. I'd have preferred a romp, but will take the W gladly. Good lesson to these youngsters.

What a bad time to miss my first home game of the year. Stupid GRE/classwork/work.
