Where is the offensive production from the center mids? A year ago, A&M's leading scorer was their attacking center mid. Now I know it's not fair to compair either Amy Berend or Becky Olsen to Kristen Strutz but come on, they have scored only 1 goal between them. How many times did you see Strutz going forward for crosses from Probst that resulted in goals and sometimes spectacular ones. Point is, the center mid going forward was A&M's best offensive weapon and now it's non existent. Question the coach as to why and isn't it about time that Burke is put in that role. The other's just aren't doing it and it's going to cost the Aggies a Big 12 championship. Come on G, your team is better than they are showing.

AG
The Aggies won today, 1-0, over Iowa State. The game plan seems to be to kick the ball forward and hope someone quick (like Echavarry), talented (like Pistorius) or both (like Krambeer) gets to the ball first. Midfield play seems to have gone out the window.

I don't know if G. doesn't think he has the right midfielders or if he just trusts his forwards to chase down balls, but teams seem to have figured it out. I want to look a possession time against Kansas, because it seemed like Kansas developed plays and controllled the ball better.

Personally, I like watching Burke play, so I'm all for that.

Amen to that. I haven't been able to attend many games recently, but I did make it to the KU game and that was one of the things that I noticed most. That and the inability to finish. First half had at least two opportunities I remember where there was only the keeper to beat and on both occasions the shot was something less than spectacular. Contrastingly, KU really had one (maybe 2 good opportunities to score...and the D gifted them the goal they got) and they made the most of it.

G has a bunch of midfielders in his #1 recruiting class, so hopefully he has the right one somewhere! Seriously, the Aggies have the talent to play a beautiful game of soccer but are not utilizing it this year. G changed out the defensive unit and the game plan does seem to be to just kick the ball forward without much purpose. This takes the midfielders out of the attack. Last year the outside defenders seemed to be more possession oriented which allowed the Aggies to build their attack from the back through the midfield. Pistorius is not very fast but is incredibly talented. If the ball could come through the midfield more to her feet, the Aggies would be lethal. As it is, she just can't outrun fast defenders. I would like to see the Aggies get back to the possession game more in playoffs. Also, the defense must tighten up in playoffs. We can't give up as many goals as we have in regular season play.
