Way to end Arsenal's unbeaten streak and way to give life back to your season. Of course the ref made some questionable calls for my Red Devils but I'll take it.

ce, I've been wating for you to post so I wouldn't steal your thunder on the big victory. That big win sure helps Chelsea after giving up points a week ago. Thanks!

That does help Chelsea. ManU needs Chelsea just as much as Chelsea needs ManU. The Reds need Chelsea to beat Arsenal both times.

wow...i just read the news. being a gunners fan, i'm sad that the streak is over...but i knew it had to happen sooner or later. it's too bad that there were controversial calls in such a game as this one...but i didn't see any of the game so i can't say anything.

Congrats to Man U. I really don't think it was a penalty, and Ferdinand could possibly have been sent off in the first half (I don't think he should have been, but it was possible), but those things happen.

Arsenal are still top at least.

I only saw the highlights on FSW, but the penalty call was questionable but not absurd. I'm sure Arsenal received a few breaks in their run. I was a little surprised their weren't more bookings early. There were some tough tackles that seemed worthy of a yellow that the ref only awarded free kicks for. I've always thought if a ref gives a yellow sooner rather than later, it can keep the game from getting out of control.

Unfortunately, my fantasy team is laden with Gunners now so that didn't help them out so much. Thankfully SWP, had a monster game.

The problem with an early yellow is it often sets the ref to be card happy throughout the game in order to be consistent. And there's nothing worse than hindering a player from being aggressive for 80 minutes because you booked him for his first foul.

My fantasy team got hit hard too, but I'm in a league of Arsenal fans so we all did. At least I have Cech and not Lehmann like most of the others.

I can agree with that, but good refs don't seem to have that problem for whatever reason. I've seen Collina be able to control a game masterfully by handing out a relatively early yellow (not necessarily on the first foul but before things get out of hand)
