Illinois falls at the great eight. Obviously a good team. Have to question the seeding that had us facing them in the second round. Still, we should have played a better game.
This looks like an opportunity lost for the soccer program. Santa Clara would have been a 17 seed, at best. For a team that's not rated in the top four to be able to get to the final four by beating a 17 seed is a rare opportunity, and we missed it.
This is not a "complain about the program or coach" post. Coach G is a great coach, and I believe that this program will be playing in the final four very soon, hopefully next year in College Station. The team missed this opportunity, but it will learn from it and be stronger for it in the future.
