Aggies played the Challange team due to Rice dropping out of the tournament, and we tied 1-1. I dont know how to feel considering that the Challange team is made up of high schoolers...But, the 20 or so of us there had a good time!
My sister was at the game. The Challenge goal was scored by Laura Grace Robinson - one of A&M's new signings. So, maybe this isn't too bad of news for the direction the team is heading in the spring/fall of 2005.
A&M went undefeated against the college teams (Houston, Rice, UNT, and SFA). I don't remember the scores, but they were really lopsided in favor of the Aggies.
Sweet win last night 8-1! Ashlee is just a scoring machine. After that mistake first goal, our girls really dominated. We have a ton of speed. Devloo was very surprising with her speed and Melissa was awesome too. Kat showed a lot of speed...was it just that the Mexican team was slow or are we really that fast? I loved our changing of the field passing/keeping it wide. Nice spring game for the girls.
did not see, but would be interested in reading some observations by anyone who attended. The recent scores, taken with the team's overall record would seem to indicate that the competition has not been all that strong this spring. Credit to the girls for generating wins and building confidence, but the next truer test will be playing the exhibition vs. carolina in Houston. the Challenge gave them quite a game - I was there, and the game was excellent. Great speed of play. the challenge had depth all around and came hard on the ball. I think closer to some of the more difficult teams they will face in the fall. I'd like to see them play more difficult teams ... in the long run, a series of shut outs don't help the team - they need some really tough games to reveal the weakness so that they can adjust and address pre-season
