For those that have played it, what do you think? Can you compare it to any Houston-area courses? Does it look like a first-class facility? I'm really interested to hear everyone's impressions.

It is totally first class! Very difficult tho by most peoples standards. The guys golf team has a tournament there this weekend. It would be a good time to watch some really great golfers and see the course at the same time. The teams practice facility is the BEST too!

Attended the tournament at Traditions this
weekend and it is fantastic. Great development
and golf facility that will only get better
when totally complete. Understand that Stan
Smith Tennis will do tennis facility that
is also going to be great and will allow
another venue for the Ag tennis team to
use.

I joined in January. I've carded 15 rounds this spring already. I love it.

The course is tough. I carry an 8.5 and RARELY can break 85 out there, but that's what makes the course fun. Every time I go out there are certain holes that I know are coming up that I must improve on playing to improve my score. I've got a problem off the tee right now and you are severely punished for wayward tee shots on that course. There is no finding your ball in the woods. There is no playing off the adjacent fairway. It is a shot-making course first and foremost, but from the tips you've got to have some distance. The greens are really starting to speed up and are running smooth. Many of them have different levels and false fronts which makes accurate approach shots a must. Also, you can't run the ball up to any green except #1 (par 4), #10 (par 5) and #15 (par 5). No "old man" golf out there...zero.

It's similar to many of the piney woods courses in NW Houston except your are much more severely punished for shots 10 yards off the fairway and almost every green has a steep, deep creek in front of it. Just imagine High Meadow Ranch, Blaketree and others in there best condition and 10 strokes harder.

The facility leaves much to be desired right now, but it's still construction in progress. I think when the Club Campus gets finished (two years?) it is going to be AWESOME. Miramont is awesome too, but in a Ritz Carlton-sort of way. Traditions is more home-y...a relaxing environment in which you'd want to live. The staff has been fantastic.

Thanks for the reports. I was hoping for a first class facility and a special golf course. It sounds like they delivered.

I'd join but I would have to sell a kidney. My wife said no.

Out of area memberships are really reasonable compared to other places. A friend from Houston joined last summer and I thought it was cheap! If you live outside BCS call out there and ask about the prices. You might be surprised.
