The old bleachers have just been taken out. Any word on when we get new seating and what it will be like?

I was wondering what those bleachers were right outside the softball complex. I have no idea what the new seats are going to look like but I am assuming they are revamping them because we are hosting the NCAA championships.

i had agro301 (i think thats what it was) recreational turf management last semester and we took a trip out to the soccer fields and i asked the field guy what they were gonna do for the seating cause we need like a minimum of X amount of seats since we are hosting the college cup and he said they are putting raised bleachers on the other side of the wall behind the benches

they must also be redoing the bleachers on the opposite side too, because they have all been removed.

the coach said a while back that he wanted them to be higher, much like how the track complex is arrainged now

I heard that there would be new seats on the players' side of the field (don't know how many), but the east side was just going to be lifted up off the ground, with an elevated walkway in front of the seats.

A friend said she heard that there would be something like 5,000 temporary seats placed on the other side of the Penberthy fence for the Final 4.

I wish there was an artist's rendition of what's the soccer complex will look like this fall on the website.

I wish we wouldnt do temporary anything. We fill that place up all the time.

you'd think havin an average attendance of above capicty for a few years in a row would get something done.

and if we're gonna put em up anyway..why not just leave em there? I bet attendence would go up. I'll admit to not going a couple times because I was a little late and didnt want to sit on the grass.

I am sure they would like to have a permanent stadium and not have to do temporary bleachers, but it costs money. Know any donors that want to have their name on the stadium.

what i dont get is the "temporary" name on the bleachers...are we renting them? if not just keep em in place

also...when a team is selling out, extra bleachers pay for themselves

When I drove by the soccer fields today, there was an 18-wheeler with what looked like pieces of new bleachers to be assembled. Maybe we'll know what they're gonna look like pretty soon. The covers from the girls bench area had also been removed.

Sweet. I had to sit on the grass a few times last year. I'm looking forward to next seasons.

Yeah for some reason Bill doesnt want anyone to know about this. I've emailed him asking about it. I even used the new "aggies ask" feature with no response. I've looked everywhere for a picture or diagram or something with no luck.

If so I don't see anything wrong with my post. I was not bashing or saying something negatvie, I was only stating my opinion based on the fact that he has not replied.

went by the field on my way to baseball tonite...looked like they just put in another level of metal to raise the bleachers to accomodate a ramp. and there's a chain link fence about 5 feet tall right in front of everything.

surely there is something else/better planned?

I would assume so, I'm thinking like bricking it all in, doing some decent cosmetics and whatever else it'll take to make this the top soccer venue in the country

They said that a new press box is going in, plus reserved seats on the players' side of the field. Those things and brick would be awesome. I figure that would "only" cost about a million dollars.

The seats have been reinstalled. I didn't see any changes in the bleachers.
