Sure, it's not like it's football or men's basketball, but it looks like the Bears will get another national championship in a month or so. The Baylor men won the national title in tennis last year, and of course the women won the basketball title this year. I just watched the Baylor men play Tech in tennis this evening in Lubbock. Tech was ranked #9 in the nation after beating both A&M and tu. Baylor came in #1. Despite a big crowd, Baylor swept Tech 7-0.

Like I said, it's not like it's football or men's basketball, but it looks like they have a great shot at a third national title for their school in 2 years. Not too bad.

Funny how baylor didn't until they got good..YOu will not win this year,

I am suprised by the 7-0 score in Lubbock. Baylor has been very consistent,. but not at that level on the road. I hope we can be competitive with them Tuesday evening. We are not nearly at the top of our game, but everyone needs to play very well to give us a chance. We have been knocking at the door all year, maybe this match will be the one that makes a statement for this team. Time will tell.

Tech has a very good team, but Baylor is just on a completly different level than any other program.

Baylor is doing it with a roster of "Euro-pros."

A lot of the Baylor/Tech matches were close, including one that went 14-12 in the third. It was fun to watch. By the way, how many teams advance to the national championships? How many matches would A&M have to win for us to be there?

It appears to me that Coach Cass has shot himself in the foot on this Baylor thing. First, Baylor gets all these pros from Germany to come play college tennis and Cass, and a few others throw a fit about it and the NCAA "looks into it" and then, does nothing. Cass still complains, but instead of joining the trend, he stays the course and tries to get the best talent in America. Meanwhile, a celler-dweller like Tech follows in the footsteps of the Dark Lord and all of a sudden, they are a top 10 team. Maybe Cass should adopt the attitude, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Obvisouly, it's not against the rules, so why not go after the top pro players in Europe and bring them here to play for A&M. It's pretty sad when, in just one calendar year, Baylor has 2 national titles and will possibly add a 3rd and A&M is still searching for its first since the 80's.

he won't do that because...

a)cass is a better coach than that.

b)we can win without a team full of foreigners.

c)tech's season was an anomoly. a lot of those guys will be gone next year, and we will go back to beating them on a regular basis.

not sure if y'all guys know who we are bringing in next year, but if y'all think connor is the one big fish, you will be pleasantly surprised.

i have a friend who played at illinois a few years back...laughed and said he sees guys he played against in the euro circuits all over bu's squad.

pretty dirty stuff...but if they don't get caught, i guess it isn't cheating?
