vs. Baylor...
1st we're top seed and don't host, then they put us vs. Baylor if we make it through 1st two rounds...
Ouch....

While we are the only one of 16 to travel, it may be that we were fortunate with the match ups. I doubt if any of the opponents are ranked much higher than 30 or so, which is clearly better than having to play the number 17-20 seed in the first two rounds. Time will tell how this works out, but if we can get out of Boise alive, it makes for a great opening match with Baylor. For those who saw our match in Waco, we were very close to winning the doubles point, which might have put some pressure on Baylor. Playing the Aggies at home in the first round is probably not what Baylor had envisioned as a good draw for the defending champions. While I am sure they will be heavily favored, it surely has the makings of a great match.

we should be coming off of two relatively easy matches.

we should have a HUGE crowd.

we were a couple points away from taking the doubles point IN WACO.

we should have a HUGE, ROWDY crowd.

ante and zack may be playing their last team tennis matches ever.

jerry has mind control over benedikt.

we should have a HUGE, LOUD crowd.

there's no way joelson, bain, or wooten will play as poorly as they did the last time we played baylor. those were probably their worst matches of the year, and they will step it up for the ncaa's.

we should have a HUGE crowd.

if we're gonna pull an upset, this is as good of a chance as we're ever gonna get. bring it on.

2 relatively easy matches?? no way....montana st beat smu earlier in the year so it will not be just show up and win in 2 hrs, we will be pushed some which isn't a bad thing...but playing at boise is no way an easy match, first you have the altitude to deal with and if you have never played tennis in altitude its a totally different game and actually use high altitude balls...second, boise gets very good crowds and they are rowdy....third, they just came off winning the WAC, i know thats not the SEC, Pac 10, or Big 12 but its still a confidence boost against some pretty good competition in SMU, Rice, and Tulsa....finally, Coach Patton "the General" is an amazing motivator and his boys will fight harder than any team we have played...so the road to the Sweet 16 is no gimmie

I saw the Montana St. team play SMU. SMU should have won going away, just poor performances. They should not be any competition for our squad(no real strong players), and I don't know much about Tarheels, but 2nd match should be competitive, but this was a good draw and we should make Sweet 16 barring disaster.

"relatively easy" meaning, relative to what our last few conference matches (baylor, t.u., osu) and our first two tournament matches last year (alabam and vcu) have been.

i know they won't be walkovers, which is why i said "relatively easy" and not easy.

regardless, we are better than any of the teams in boise, and if we play average to above average tennis we will win.

i agree that we are the better team, im just saying there are factors like the altitude and crowd that will make the boise match a lot tougher than it looks on paper....playing in altitude the ball really flies and its a much faster game so it will be very tough

What's the altitude in Boise, anything less than 5,000 ft is not a big factor. What are the thoughts on our signing class? Have watched Tarnasky for some time, a real strong player who should be able to step right in. He has been playing doubles with Connor Pollock and they have apparently been a good team. Don't know anything about the other 2, but Pollock and Tarnasky are great pickups. I know Steve Moore must have played a big part in getting Tarnasky to Aggieland.

we've got a state champ from 4A, a state champ from 5A (who went undefeated his senior year of high school, and now plays for tjc), and the #1 guys in 18s in the entire country. and they all happen to be from texas. i doubt any D1 school has a domestic recruiting class like that.

add to that the #1 in 18s from serbia, and i think we should have one of the best recruiting classes in the country. should be the best or second in the conference, depending on who baylor gets.

The aggies have a great tennis team. Its too bad that the sweet 16 is the farthest you will be able to get this year.

Any other pairing ande i could see A&M making a serious run at the Final Four.

sadly, i agree.

IMO, we are better than u-dub, tech, osu, and tennessee. however, if we had taken care of business in the semis we would have gotten a better seed (even without ante, we had our chances).

our best chance is combining the crowd's energy with our best doubles play of the season and getting the dubs point. assuming we have ante back at 100%, i believe it's a tossup if we start out 1-0.
