I didn't realize we had so many players on overseas clubs. Here is the roster for our match vs. England. Has the US always had this many players in Europe, or is this a new thing?

Recently we have had a lot more play in Europe, the teams overseas pay a lot more than the MLS. This has been a trend since 1994

McBride has been having a lot of success with Fulham. I think he had 4 goals in the last 4 games.

I think that this is an immediate impact of the MLS. It has allowed players to make livings as professionals while giving them exposure to foreign clubs. In the days of old, they would have to just head over to Europe and hope. Now they can get experience and work out deals while still playing.
