I must say that this took me by surprise. I was sure that he would resign after the CL final. I guess he felt snubbed after Liverpool were late to come forward with a new contract but that's pretty ridiculous considering the offer that eventually came was 100,000 pounds a week (!). Liverpool rejected a 33 million pound offer from Chelsea but that could change now that Gerrard has said he wants to go. Quite sad really and I'm not even a Liverpool fan.
