I'm thinking of getting back into triathlons and need a place to swim in B/CS.

Where does everyone swim?

I've been to AeroFit on Villa Maria, but I'd prefer something a bit closer to south CS. Anyone use the CS Jr High pool? I'm thinking the Rec may be my best choice though.

The rec is definitely your best option if you are a student. Even if you're not you can join aggie swim club or just go in as a guest if you are willing to pay (or sneak in through the side door every day). I'm not sure what the status of the masters program is right now. I coached the morning practice a couple years ago, but attendence was so low we dropped morning workouts. The Bryan aquatic center is also pretty good. They used to have a USS team out there, but I'm not sure if they still do. Hope that helps a little.

I work for A&M, so I can get a membership at the Rec. I wish they had a pool only membership, but the price isn't too bad.

I don't think there's a masters class anymore. Well at least not in the morning when I'd go. I lack technique, so that would be helpful.

If you're thinking about getting back into tri's go to http://dsa-stuorg.tamu.edu/triathlon/

We don't do much during the summer as a team, but there are casual rides, runs, and the occasional brick workout as well. We've got several grad students and faculty members involved, so it's not just for undergrads.
