Did anyone go to the opening game this weekend? I'd like to hear how it went.

Where is it and what is it?

It was fantasic! The stadium still needs finishing but I would say that they are about 90% finished. The sightlines are good, even from the closed end. The parking was still a work in progress, but we arrived plenty early for that not to be an issue. I definitely recommend checking out a game there for your self.

ce1994: Pizza Hut Park is FC Dallas' (the professional soccer team) brand new soccer specific stadium located in Frisco.

the new stadium is 10 mins away from my house in Allen. it looks NICE; or at least it will when the construction is totally done. the last Dallas soccer game I went to was the first one at the Cotton Bowl when they were the Dallas Burn, back in the day...nothing like 10,000 fans in a 60,000+ stadium.

i might be going in a couple weeks. looking forward to it. it looks good from the pictures and highlights i've seen.

It looked good on TV, but FC Dallas fans need to get a bit more vocal. I could hear every PA announcement through the TV.

I had a lot of fun at the game. I was in the front row by the corner flag, and all 4 goals were scored right in front of me. The stadium was pretty nice, although there's a lot left to be completed outside. I wish FC Dallas had won, but it overall was a great experience.

Have you noticed, pretty much any coverage of soccer by abc or espn does a horrible job of mic'ing the crowd.

During long portions of the 2nd half on Saturday, the crowd was dead silent. And they did the wave. Other than that, I thought they were pretty good.

I was there Saturday and had a great time. It was my first pro soccer match. I just hope all the restroom stalls have doors next time I go. Other than that, I think they need to work with the attendants above each row to keep spectators going down the aisles during crucial moments.

There's another game there this Saturday at 7:30 against 1st place New England (it should be a really good game) for those of you who might have missed the first game and want to check it out.

Sounds pretty good. I would like to go see FC Dallas play.
