Is there a goal that you'll probably never forget? For me it would probably have to be Michael Owen's goal in the '98 World Cup match against Argentina, which is also one of the best matches i've ever seen, even though the evil Argies won. Anyways, this was when Owen was only 18 and just coming onto the world stage.

you can view the video here: http://avantic.fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/gotc/en/gotcFinal.html

Anyone else? more videos would be appreciated.

Speaking of great goals, Maradona's second goal against England in the 1986 World Cup was unreal.

He followed that up by basically doing the same thing to Belgium in the semi-finals.

Owens was incredible in 1998.

David Narey of Scotland, against Brazil in the 1982 World Cup. He basically hit the ball with the outside part of his right foot, and the ball took a wicked dip and dropped in right underneath the bar.

More recently, Rooney's volley from outside the box versus Newcastle was pretty amazing.

His first goal was quite handy as well. (HA!)

In all seriousness though, his second goal won goal of the century if I'm not mistaken. I was bored at work one day and found this site with a bunch of random goals, and they had one of a guy from Real Madrid (I don't think it was Roberto Carlos) where the guy smacks a laser from no more than 10 yards inside the center line and scores. Freakin' amazing.

Pele in 68 in Sweden I believe- header over shoulder of def.-Pele only 5'5.

Absolute best- Johann Cruyf against Dallas Tornado - free kick about 20-25 yards from left of goal - knuckler over wall - Kenny Cooper -Gk
was so fooled he didn't move an inch!

Dre, I think goal you're referring to was scored by Clarence Seedorf.

The best goal I've seen was during Champions League halftime highlights of other CL games. I don't know who or what team it was, but this guy hit a free kick from about 5 yards in front of the center circle and about 10 yards in from his left touchline. It was a laser that never rose above waist level and never bounced(for 45 frickin yards!) and hit the back of the right side of the net. It was amazing.

Myself, 4 years ago, Dallas Classic League.
Intercept a pass 35 yards out, about 10 yards from the right sideline. One touch, and take a shot, the ball has no spin and a slight knuckle-dip, keeper only has time to take a step and dive, he misses up, side netting upper 90. I rule. ( Honestly, it was an incredible goal, but I'd probably go with somethign from Bobby Charlton( I believe his name is) I used to own a vhs that was 101 greatest english league goals. Sorry for the run-on sentences, but it seemed to fit the "announcing" vibe.

PatAg, my best, or most memorable goal, is very similar to yours. I was 14 and had a teammate lob a ball to me in about the same area as yours(30 yards out about 3 feet from the right sideline) I was running full speed let it bounce once and cracked it first time and it knuckled and lasered into the left upper 90 past an outstreched keeper. Awesome.

Austin 1st division against the River City Rangers, their whole team came up and congratulated me on a great goal during the game.

I think it has to be Rivaldo's goal. Zidane's was extraordinary but I think Rivaldo's was even better considering the circumstances. It was a last minute goal and without it, Barca would not have made it to Champions League.

Favorite goal that I saw was the self goal that tu scored for us during the Big 12 Tournament Championship game last year. The defender who deflected our pass into the goal lay face down and pounded her fists on the ground in frustration.

Usually I'm more sympathetic, but not that day.

I would've saved it.

CadeLBB, I don't know that any of my goals on you would be in my top 10 and there have been many. Although, maybe one of my funniest was when I nailed you in the balls.

That was pretty funny. What's even funnier is that you don't remember that I stopped that shot. WITH MY BALLS!

You didn't give up the rebound for a goal? Good technique.
