The crowd on Saturday looked about as big as the Friday crowd.

When Jay Roberts came out and asked if there were fish in the crowd, I swear about 2/3 of the student side cheered.

Amazing.

As a Maverick fan, it was a lot of fun to come down to Saturday night's match. Definitely, your net play proved decisive in your victory...we just were not able to get as many kills. Nevertheless, I was proud of the UTA showing...they played tough and never rolled-over. Although I always hope for a win in my heart when we play you, in the back of my mind, I know it's tough going against Big 12. However, sometimes, when the stars are aligned, the underdog knocks of the top dog...such as the year we defeated UT Austin in the NCAA tournament and advanced the Final Four. BTW, you have a lot of nice banners, too.

Since the b-ball team left for Reed Arena, G. Rollie White makes an outstanding volleyball facility. Also, the location is excellent.
All-in-all, it was a fun evening.

UTA, glad you enjoyed your trip. I really impressed with the way yall played. I expected an easy win much like the night before. Yall definitely had me a little nervous early on.

Defensively, you were extremely quick. A lot of balls were dug that I didn't think you had a chance at.

I think the biggest difference, though was our play at the net, like you mentioned, and also our depth. It seemed like your ladies wore down a bit while we were able to stay fresh with the large number that we played.

I was impressed at the blocks UTA had, and I when they attacked up front, they had some success. But for the most part, they looked to defense and hoped for chance openings and A&M mistakes to get the win, but it didn't happen. It was fun to watch. And the crowd was good.

BTW, I spent the night at the MSC. If you didn't know, they have rooms. They are modest but very adequate. And, the location was convenient obviously extremely convenient to G. Rollie White. This was a big plus, as I had my 3-year old son with me. He has just now become old enough to take with me on outings like this. Of course, it was fun to stay on your campus and to enjoy the atmosphere. Sbisa was great for breakfast, and a great deal.
