I was right behind their keeper in the 2nd half and we got her out of her game. Soccer games are the new baseball games.

Also - I got a poster autographed by every player on the team and they were giving out big refrigerator magnets. Soccer is booming at Aggieland.

It's been booming in Aggieland. And now the class of 08 is trying to merge Basketball and Baseball traditions with Soccer... Soccer was it's own sport before y'all. The "left, right, left..." everytime the goalie moved was very irritating, especially when the action is going on the other side of the field. Watch the game kids...

agreed... soccer was its own thing and now people are trying to make it another baseball as far as "traditions" go. let it be, please!

When I was going to games, back in...uh...2003, there were about 2500 people at the games. I can't imagine 4500! Anyone have any pictures?

I wasn't a part of the "left, right" stuff, but I meant soccer was becoming the new baseball because of the overall HECKLING! It has gotten crazy and you could tell we were really getting under the skin of their keeper.

Heckling is one thing, but when the ball is on our side of the field, dont keep yelling at the goalie on their side. I don't know if it interfered with KJ's communication tonight, but even if it didn't, it didn't show much support for the girls. At least pretend to have an interest in the game instead of being so preoccupied with their goalie. And also, if you're going to heckle, at least try to be creative. And no, chanting the name of the goalie is not creative...

I told the goalie not to leave the box. I said "Everything outside the box is lava!"

I wrote the book on creativity.

Yeah I'm tired of the baseball stuff. Beeping when the goalie backs up, etc... no creativity. Of course I'm also tired of people horse laughing every call that goes against us. If we're offsides, we're offsides. What do you people want?!

Other than that, it was a decent match. Their goalie really isn't that great, she didn't communicate to her team at all. They were just leaving our girls open for corner kicks, not even paying attention to what we were doing. You could tell she was getting tired at the end too, her goal kicks weren't even making it to midfield. That girl definitely had a boot though, some of those punts were real nice.

i just shake my head at the retardedness of some people sometimes, and cant stand the lack of wit that sometimes comes from our student section... now im all for being funny. humor can make an average student section into one of the best in the business... but PLEASE dont be gay with things like "you are a t-sip!"

I also think the horse laugh is being over-used. Happens at the volleyball games too. It for when there is a bad call, not just when we mess up.

I agree with most of CDub06 and AgSoccer2007's posts- the chanting the goalie's name and the beeping and the "get back in the box" were very annoying-- While its great seeing attendance go from 1500 (sometimes less than 1000)in 2003 to 4500+ is great theres no need to recycle other sport's traditions

Oh- and theyve always had magnets and autographs after some games- in fact we used to be allowed to mingle on the field with the players after the games

To the contrary, LG Robinson was marked by an ECU defender who attempted to push her out at the six-yard line and made the jump with her - LGR got more air and made contact with the ball on the apex of her jump. In addition, ECU had a defender on the back post who jumped late. Neither this defender, nor the GK ever had a chance, as the ball found the extreme upper 90.

No cakewalk here. To the credit of the Ags, they are both technically adept and physical, and in this case, Robinson attacked the ball with precision. Service from Probst had pace and was just where it should be, close to the six. Well done.

My husband and I attended this game - our first A&M soccer game. I hate soccer but I actually had fun at the game! Guess it helped that we scored a goal about 7 1/2 minutes into the game and had over 20 shots on goals. I was expecting to be bored to tears but not at all. The clock running continuously definitely helps.

I don't know much, but that East Carolina team looked pretty bad. We seemed to be much faster and much more athletic.

We will definitely be attending a few more games this year!

I also am not partial to the sport of soccer... in fact i dont think ive ever watched any mens soccer game for more than maybe 5 minutes.

the thing that got me out to the ASC in the first place freshman year was living at callaway with kat, linda, madison, etc. since then i havent missed a home game! they are tons and fun and very exciting.

"you sir are a t-sip" is the single most greastest thing ANYONE has ever said in the history of aggie sports event.

when someone is referred to as a "t-sip" it doesn't necessarily mean that he is a t.u. grad or student but really defines the person and their lifestyle
