This answers a lot of our questions and i posted it in the football board too...

Now to the sports stuff:
quote:
Aggie students with sports passes will be admitted to all these matches. We'll support the Green Wave because they need us for a home-court advantage just like our teams do.

These girls are used to no student support what so ever so i think it would be awesome if we could fill the stands for them at least half as well as we do for our Aggies...

quote:
Tulane shirts and other gear will be on sale in the Barnes and Noble book store at the MSC.

Answers a lot of our questions...

quote:
Now, it looks like a good possibility we might compete against them in men's basketball, volleyball, and soccer, as well.

Once again i want to tell all of yall how proud i am to be a part of this family at A&M, it makes me so happy, amd validates every reason i had for transferring out of Tulane...

Does it matter? I'll be there, yelling for them as much as I yell for my Ags.

I'm taking Friday afternoon off work so I can come to the 2:00 v-ball game. Not sure if I'll be able to make it on Sunday or not.

So any word if the band will be there or if they can get some taped music so we can shout their fight song or whatever?

I think I read on another thread that the band won't make the Friday game because of classes, but they will be there for Sunday. I would look for it for you, but I'm lazy.

That's awsome about the v-ball game, I along with 5 other friends will be there at 2pm. And can anyone confirm the rumor about the MSC selling tulane shirts? I'll buy one.

Band is getting a volunteer group together for Sunday, and are in the process of finding an arrangement of the Tuland fight song.

Bill Byrne said in his Wed. Weekly that the MSC bookstore will be selling Tulane gear so I assume it is true. If I get to campus early enough tomorrow, I will go buy shirts for my husband and me before the v-ball game. If not, I'll stop by after the game.

Is Koldus usually full during the day? I'm not sure where else to park on a Friday afternoon, especially the day before a home football game.

The bookstore might not have stuff in yet to sell, but they will soon if not today.

Inca...Koldus isn't usually full, but if it is you can just park at the west campus garage.

Thanks! I wouldn't mind the walk from West Campus if it weren't so darn hot. I certainly could use the exercise.

That game was awesome, even though Tulane lost, i talked with a lot of their athletes and they said they couldnt believe how nice everyone was being and how much of a good time they were having, thanks again to all of those who came out (they told me to tell yall thanks too) and a parent of one of the volleyball players came up to me after and said that she started to cry because she was so touched that our students would show up to support Tulane's teams, so thanks again.. I love bein an Aggie

I'm class of '89 and I have to admit I had tears in my eyes right before the game started when we gave Tulane's team such a warm welcome.

I was a tad disappointed so many people (including the other Tulane student-athletes) left after the 2nd game.

I was sitting where I could see the Tulane student-athletes when they walked in and I saw a couple surprised faces when they saw how many people were at the game.

I hope I can talk my husband into coming to Sunday's game. He is out of town today so I came by myself. It was better than sitting in my office at work!

It would be cool if we could do some of their yells like Hullaballoo.

My friend on the soccer team told me that they had to go to a thing for the red cross, but that they were so appreciative of everything...

Yeah, it would be cool, however the Tulane students don't even know those cheers and i dont know if i get to be unofficial yell leader again, i was kind of messing it up, but i will do what i can, thanks again for coming out!

Were you the guy in the green tulane shirt leading yells?

Since we know what it sounds liek now (as opposed to just having the words) maybe a few could learn it before the game. It's simple and catchy, it'll probably catch on quickly.

I thought perhaps the Tulane student-athletes had to go to practice of something. I just felt kind of bad for the volleyball team that they came out of the locker room for the 3rd game and the crowd was only 1/3 of the size it was for the first 2 games.

But, I thought that considering the game was on a Friday afternoon, we did a pretty good job of supporting them. I hope we continue to support them, no matter how the wins and losses shake out.

Do you know if they are getting uniforms? I assumed the t-shirts they wore today are NOT their real volleyball uniforms. Hope they will have their real uniforms soon.

from tulane's athletic site...
quote:
But the game was much more than just scores and stats. It was about a team playing in a strange arena, in front a large group of rowdy fans - mostly Texas A&M students who had never seen the Green Wave play prior to Friday's contest - as well as a large contingent of Tulane's men's basketball, swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis, and women's soccer teams in College Station who came out to support their fellow student-athletes.

At the beginning of the match, it was obvious where the Tulane student-athletes were and where the Texas A&M student body was sitting. But as the A&M regulars began doing makeshift Tulane yells, the Green Wave and Aggie fans began to intertwine into one large and loud unit.

"I can't say enough about the support we have received since we arrived in College Station, but today brought it to a whole new level," Kritza said. "We came out of the locker room for pregame warm-ups and (TexasA&M's) students began cheering and doing their yells. It made us feel that much more welcome, which based on the reception we have received so far, is no small accomplishment."

I was interviewed for three different papers (not sure why) but yeh so maybe there will be some more good stuff out about the aggies in the mornin!

Good bull 08. We may want to work on some of those yells before the next game though...
