I didnt get to watch the game but I saw the stats live. Soccer loses by one to Iowa State with a goal with 18 seconds to go in the game. Stats say we outshot them 25-3.

Headed the ball in with 13.3 seconds left.

Un****ingbelievable!

Was at the game. It was utter domination by A&M all night. Time of possession was something like 80 minutes to 10 minutes in favor of the Aggies. A&M had around 10 great scoring opportunities that just missed going in the net. Iowa State didn't have a real scoring threat until the very last play with 10 seconds left, and to their credit they put it in to win the game.

It was a stunner that's for sure. Coach G took off his hat and threw it over the fence, he couldn't believe it. This was a very tough loss, but we just have to find a way to break through the stacked defenses we face almost every game.

The girls played hard though, and I think they'll come out and beat Nebraska on Sunday to turn things around record-wise. We have to hope Oklahoma and Oklahoma St. start losing games to give us a chance to win the conference now.

Oh well.......maybe the mouthy beotch from Kansas was right, and we aren't that good. Between soccer and vb lately, we are getting used to heartbreaking losses.

man, we're not having luck in anything this year

I think the lack of success on the Michigan trip and the loss to tu should have told us that the soccer hype was overdone. I'm sure our team plays hard, but that alone won't get victories.

Stupid comment. We're really, really good. We outshot them 25-3, but just couldn't score. It happens to the best sometimes in soccer. You just have to shake it off and keep playing.

Have faith in our girls, they can play.

We need our forwards to step up. Melissa Garey seems to be the only one putting it in the net so far. Ashlee Pistorius needs to return to last year's form and we need to finish our opportunities.

That is an awful loss. Iowa St.! That has to be one of the worst losses in the history of the program.

Did anyone hear why they wouldn't let the drummers play their "drums" anymore. The Iowa St. coach got real b*tchy about it right as they were about to start the 2nd half.

I know G has a lot of talented players, but I think he was a little too quick to sub tonite. During the middle of the second half, Kat, Madison and Micah were consistently making runs down the right side, but he switched the lineup around before they could really make it pay off. The forwards kept rotating, which seemed to keep them off rhythm. Pistorius did have a nice shot that was blocked, but for the most part, it seemed like anytime a group of girls got on the same page, then G moved them.

It seems to me, following our soccer team closely the last three years, we almost always outshoot our opponents who beat us by a considerable margin -- yet, can't get the ball in to score. Take a look -- this isn't a 'this year' phenomena. What is the problem here?

From the AUA broadcast, it seemed that everybody who had been sitting behind the ISU goal (to heckle their goalie or influence play) in the first half, got up and moved to the other goal at halftime so as to keep on heckling the ISU goalie. The drums may have been just too much for the ISU coach, and he influenced the refs to make them move, or stop, or whatever.

The ISU coached complained about it enough to get them to stop. He had to complain about it three times or so before they'd do anything.

These last two losses have turned the Nebraska game into a must win situation. Early upset losses can put any championship hopes into the ditch. I'm sure being in their current situation is the last place G and the players expected to find themselves. From here on out, every game has to be played like it is a war.

Last year everyone tried to get the ball to Pistorious with success. This year instead she is doing the setups to Garey a good bit of the time. Garey is good but around the goal Pistorious should get the most balls.

The ref should not have allowed a sub with 30 seconds left. That said we should have been prepared for the long throw in.
