It has been a long time since I was at a VB game last and I have a couple questions.
1. What are the tiki guys all about?
2. What are the different color jerseys for (Clay for us had it today). I noticed she didn't show up on the scoreboard either.
3. Not wanting to flame, I know there are a few band people on the board, but why weren't you guys yelling with the rest of the students? It looked like the guys on the front row were but everyone else looked like they were just standing.
4. What is up with the old guy with the beard in the south bleachers taunting and putting hex's on CU? I saw him at the tu game too, and I couldn't look away. That guy is a riot, but I feel sorry for his wife that was sitting next to him...

1. Are you talking about the thing beneath the south scoreboard? A year ago they had a promotion where someone sitting there had a chance to be entered in a drawing for a trip to Cozumel, thus the decorations. This year it's a drawing for a textbook scholarship but the decorations remain. I wasn't at today's game, so sorry if you're referring to something different.
2. The player in the alternate jersey is the libero, a defensive specialist who has to follow certain rules. She's also allowed unlimited substitutions. If you watch, you'll see her enter and leave the game freely without checking in.
3. I'll leave that to someone in the band.
4. I assume you're probably talking about Laura's father. He's hilarious.

That dude didn't find that book out there either at halftime. Man that was sure funny though.

I can't speak for the band since I'm no longer in it, but I would be shocked if this were the case. Most of the people are in the band because they love aggie athletics. At the NCAA Tourney last year in Knoxville our band outyelled the entire Tennessee crowd, no joke. At the beginning of the basketball season when nobody was showing up yet, the band was there yelling our a$$es off to support our teams.

Once again, not saying this isn't true, cause I was not there, but honestly, knowing as many of the band members as I do, I would be shocked.

Yeah that guy was cracking my wife and i up. It was good to be back at a "small" sport again. I make all the football, basketball and baseball games now, but it has been a while for all the others. I have also been to a few soccer games this season and things have changed 10 fold since I last went. I'm thinking about picking up season tickets to them next year.

And rcb, I hope it was just the times I was watching them, I was just curious. When I was in basketball band we had a good time at the games and the Big XII tourney, even though we were aweful. Glad things are looking up.

Alright....as to the band (since all other questions were successfully covered)....

A good portion of the band is still pretty redass at the games. I'm not going to lie though. There seems to be a lot more of the band members who are just losing interest in the games. I don't know if they're just down because the team itself isn't doing so well, or if they just don't really care about volleyball. Most of the band however, is still gungho when it comes to aggie sports. I expect those that aren't so into the games anymore to slowly drop out of the band. It happened like that last year and I don't see how this year is going to be any different.

This has actually been a pretty hot button issue with me and my fellow band members this season. You can ask any band member that deals with me and they'll tell you I'm always complaining about the lack of enthusiasm coming from a few members. But then I'm reminded that they filter themselves out. It's nothing to worry about and I'll probably talk with the band again about this.

I want to make it 100% understood though, that most of the band is yelling for our girls. I'm very proud of them and I know they'll keep it up.
