I know our Vball team has been really down this year, but I sure am hoping they can get the win over Baylor tonight. Last year, Baylor finished ahead of A&M in the Director's Cup standings, which was extremely embarrasing. Volleyball is one sport where we can't afford a loss to the Bears if we are going to avoid this unfortnate situation from happening again. We're currently 9th in the conference and Baylor is 10th. It should be quite the battle, but somebody has to win it.

I'll be there as soon as I get outta class.

Apparently there have been rumblings in the athletic office about Corbelli's job security. If they fire her for having one down year (while our team is so young and injury-bit) then BB is a moron.

I've heard rumor of these grumblings, too. I really don't think Byrne would fire Corbelli for one down year. She's made it to the NCAAs every year she's coached here (I'm pretty sure).

Yeah...it is kind of a must win situation for the girls tonight. I really hope they can pull it off.

I can assure you that has absolutely nothing to do with Byrne. Terry Petit built that program long before Bill made his way to Nebraska, and John Cook has done an admirable job keeping the ball rolling.

My personal opinion is that we don't need a head coaching change.

The girls looked good in games 3 and 4. We sucked it up big time in games 1 and 2. We couldn't hit our blocks, we couldn't get our kills consistantly, and there seemed to be a lack of communication. Baylor also played really well.

I must say though that I have never seen a ref move as fast as the up ref did after he called the last point for Baylor. He called one of our girls over the net after one of the Baylor girls complained. Didn't consult any of the other judges or anything, just called it, motioned to shake hands and took off running.

This team is a one trick horse... set it to Laura Jones. It's easy for opposing teams to focus on her and shut us down. The blocking problems and service errors don't help.

Service errors are killing us. Plus I think we lean on Laura too much, teams are just putting two people on her, making quite a few blocks. Of course its easy to get blocks when you have two 6'5'' giants like Baylor. I swear the football team should try them out as TE's.
