Are there any Pro Rodeo fans out there?

If so, has anyone been to the NFR before? I got tickets this year and am really looking forward to it and was wondering what to expect and if there are any other activities going on in Vegas for those 10 days.

Been there many times. Great fun! Go early & plan to stay late as traffic is terrible, especially leaving. Wait for cab can be long (& miserable if weather is cold) so consider a limo if your budget allows. Some hotels have shuttles so ask about that. There is a trade show set up around the concourse with rodeo items, clothes, etc. for sale. If you don't have tickets for every perf while out there the Nugget downtown has a great big screen set up. Good party at the Gold Coast after perfs where perf winners are introduced & sometimes mingle. Have fun!

And if your seats are up high, take binoculars.

So for someone who will not have a car out there, what is the best way to get to and from the Thomas and Mack Center from the strip? Even though cabs can have a long wait are they still the best option? What hotels have shuttle buses?
