We did this last year too! Our loss to Illinois was one of the lowest attended games of the year. We averaged nearly 3600 for the year, and we get to the NCAA's and only draw 1900 and something.
It 'sprinkled' for about 5 minutes. That's not what kept people away. I wonder if its the football schedule: the away game sent people out of town to the game, or home.
Hopefully Sunday will be talked up so we can get twice the crowd we had last night.
Are students able to use all sports passes for NCAA champion for sports such as soccer & volleyball? If not that would be the biggest reason for the dip in attendence. I know they aren't able to for baseball regionals.
Probably a big factor is that a A) a LOT of people have gone home this weekend since theres no football and B) people read small directional school and have no interest
Ever since I have been here, the biggest factor in attendance is whether we have a home football game that weekend. If we have a home game for football, you can usually expect 3500 for a conference game on Friday and 2500 on Sunday. If the football team is out of town, drop both of those by about 1000.
