Didn't see most of the game, but the way Aikman is talking him up, sounds like Simms had a good day.

At what point do you stop and realize that he spent the majority of his career on T+1 kicking your butts.

i didnt say a thing about him playing us, think its good to see a boy from the state getting national attention, even if it is a sip.

About "half" the time would be more accurate.

He lost one of them, and in another he led one drive of any significance that netted a TD.

I think he's from Jersey, right? It would make sense with his dad spending all those years with the Giants.

agdotcom, simms started the game 4 years (1999, 2000, 2001, 2002). in 1999 he was a true freshman and only played b/c major applewhite got food poisoning the night before the game. simms started the game and major finished it (i believe we had the lead when simms was pulled but he wasn't doing much and a&m was coming back).

in 2000, 2001 & 2002 simms started the a&m game and won. 2000 & 2002 were blowouts; 2001 we won a close game at kyle field but we finished winning by 14.

and yes, simms had very good numbers as a career vs. a&m. too bad simms & roy williams couldn't have those numbers/games vs. OU.

too bad Simms couldnt win against OU with the likes of Roy Williams and Cedric Benson - what a shame, if only yall had a QB that could get over the hump the past 4 years... finally you found vince

Major Applewhite came down with food poisoning before the '99 game, not Simms.

Chris is a great Longhorn and endured more sh*t than most players should have to. His only crime was having a father that was an NFL quarterback and playing alongside Major, who was overrated, IMO. Very good, but most UT fans act like he won four national titles in four years.

Good for Chris. He's total class.

He had a good game. Farris could have had games like that in the pros with good coaching and good receivers.

Texas97, I am well aware of what happened. I attended the two games I commented on.

While 14 points was the margin of victory in the 2001 game, 7 of them were scored on a blocked punt. Simms did not lead the offense to a score until the 4th quarter, and the drive started at the A&M 35. The second offensive TD was a gift after A&M had to go on 4th down at their end of the field. Texas started the drive at the A&M 12 with under 2 minutes left in the game.

There was no asskicking by Simms in the 2001 game, thus no asskicking "the majority" of the time he played against A&M. Unless you consider a QB putting up 7 legit points when starting from the opponent's 35 yardline an asskicking.

Simms was the QB at the helm when Texas tripled A&M on the scoreboard in 2001. I guess by current Aggie standards that isn't considered an ass kicking, but...

And by your "standards" a 2-0 win on a safety against Kansas yesterday would be a bigger asskicking than 66-14, since the percentage spread of the former is infinite.

Keep posting. You're entertaining.

Okay. The average score in the Texas-Texas A&M game during Chris's 4 years is 33-8.
