I always joke that if I was going to play Micheal Jordan in one on one. I would take ball and shoot immedialty. Hopefully I would hit the shot and turn to him and say "Best player on earth my ass." After than I would, sse the ball.

Zinedine Zidane was pretty much the best player on Earth from about 1996ish - 2002ish.

In 2002 he scored what could argubly be the greatest goal of all time in the Champions League Final.

That is one of the greatest goals ever scored. From the difficulty of the one-timer to the impact of the shot. Amazing.

Stick to basketball guitarsoup. Yes it was a great goal, but high school kids can do that, hell I've done that. Zidane has possibly the greatest first touch I've seen, and is also great on the ball. Basically, he could be one of those and1 guys..but also a dream teamer at the same time.

Got agree with Pat and 83. A great goal but the not in the category of best ever in my opinion.

I actually get more enjoyment from watching his passing and ball skills. That first video is insane. World class player, no doubt.

I've never seen that before but I thought it was pretty nice. That said, perhaps some of you experts have copies of videos of better goals? I would love to see them.

Here's one that I saw on bigsoccer honoring George Best. It's from his days with the Earthquakes in the old NASL. This is a world class goal.

Anybody seen Pele's best World Cup goal? I believe he was 18 years old at the time. He was about 8 yards out, barely flipped ball over defenders head, then volley for goal. Couldn't find a link, but it was awesome.

What about Roberto Carlos' free kick? It was the most wicked spin I've ever seen. Here's a link.

I found the Pele video. Still my favorite in WC, with Nelinho a close second. FIFA had a 'World Cup goal of century' contest. This link shows videos of their top 51 goals. Unbelievable stuff.

Check out Dwayne DeRosario's MLS goal of the year this past season. It reminds me a lot of Roberto Carlos'. It's the last goal of the week in the 'Sights and Sounds' section at www.mlsnet.com

I've been amazed every time I have seen that DeRosario goal. The look on the faces of the defenders in the wall is almost as entertaining.

Zidane definitely has an amazing touch. That first video is great.

And the George Best goal is wicked, too.
