I'm 90% sure I'll be going (as long as I get tickets via the USSF lottery in a couple weeks), but unfortunately most of my friends are gimps and either 1)don't want to go or 2)want to go but don't want to commit by Dec. 12th. Anyway, I'm prepared to go solo and just meet up with what US fans do make the trek over but I thought I'd see if any of the few Aggie soccer fans here had decided to go ahead of time.

I'll be there through the A&M Study Abroad program. I am expecting mass chaos.

I will be there along with 3 (possibly 4) other Ags. We have tix and are just awaiting the draw on Dec. 9th. We also have two sip friends that are going (we actually met them at the WC in Korea/Japan and have become good friends). This will be my fourth WC. I hope this one is better than the last one in Europe... cross your fingers for a good draw. It would be nice to duplicate, if not improve on our performance at the '02 WC. Best of luck scoring tix with the USSF... the more Ags the better! WC is a blast, June cannot get here quick enough!

I'm looking forward to it. If I make it, it will be my first one. I think I have a decent shot at tickets if I next day my application as soon as it's e-mailed to me. The only think I'm worried about is that I don't want to be stuck by myself around a ton of the other team's fans. Fortunately, I've heard that while USSF has little control over your seat assignments, they have a box you can check on the application that asks if you would like for them to try and seat you next to Sam's Army. We'll see I suppose. What category tickets did y'all end up getting?

Category 3... will be there for the first round. My Ag friends have Category 2 and will be there through the second round. Let me know how your ticket quest ends... if things don't work out, I may have a lead or two for you.

Don't necessarily have to be loaded with coin... just need to PLAN like a mutha... and it helps to have a connection or two. I met some folks that went to Japan/Korea that saved for 3+ years and quit their jobs so they could go. Personally, I have no desire to go to South Africa for the next Cup, so my streak will probably end there.

Amen to that. It also helps that I'm in the travel industry so I can do some things and pay some prices that others can't.

I'm shooting for Cat 4 since they're the cheapest and I actually like sitting right behind the goal. As such, I'll only be buying tickets to the group stage but if we make it to the knockout rounds, I might stick around Germany and watch the games in the bars...or maybe go to England and visit some family.

I'll let you know if these tickets fall through and I need another source.

I live in Germany and will be here for the World Cup. I'm not getting tickets, but I am planning on trying to at least make it to a site that the US is playing at. If anyone wants to meet at a bar and watch some football I'm definitely down.

where do you register for the lottery?

Probably FIFA.com. CadeLBB, I tried to call you earlier. Does your friend still have those tickets that he's not using? I'd be willing to try to use them regardless of the security crap they have on them.

Two things:

1) I know you can't register for the USSF allotment pre-sale if that's what you're asking about. You had to be a USSF member by Nov. 20th to get the application on Dec. 12th. If they have more tickets left over after the pre-sale, they'll become available to the general public around Jan 6th I think. If you're going outside of the USSF, then somewhere on FIFA.com you can get info on the next lottery round.

2) If you know someone who has tickets but can't go now, FIFA developed some system for those people to either get rid of those tickets or to sell them to other people. Again, I don't know the exact link but I'm sure you can find it on FIFA.com.
