From an Email:
Tulane will continue to participate in Division I intercollegiate athletics, but with a reduced number of programs. Green Wave athletics will sponsor six programs that will compete in eight sports: football, baseball, men and women's basketball, volleyball, and women's indoor and outdoor track and cross country. The NCAA president and staff have assured the university that it will be able to secure the waivers needed to continue to compete as a Division I program.

Looks like there will be no more women's swimming/diving, women's soccer, or women's or men's tennis for them... I guess they are having to cut back funding, I remember a couple years back when they were discussing leaving Division I sports all together...

can't really blame them. they've been burning through their endowment this semester.

I too wonder if Tulane's athletic department will survive at all over the long haul.

I really doubt that it will, especially with the level of student support [nonexistent] at Tulane...

that'd suck if one of the best baseball programs in the country left Div. 1....
